What Stage 2 PDHPE Unit 3 covers
The unit starts close to home: the factors that shape personal identity, and how identity and a sense of belonging support wellbeing. From there students explore rights, responsibilities and respectful behaviours, what consent means and how to be assertive, and where their own personal boundaries sit. Lesson 5 turns to trusted adults and help-seeking — including the No–Go–Tell strategy — before the final three lessons apply rights, responsibilities and protective behaviours to online environments: online friendships, things to watch out for, and what to do when something online doesn't feel right.
Written for NSW Stage 2 PDHPE, the content also sits comfortably alongside Year 3 and Year 4 Health and Physical Education programs elsewhere in Australia — identity, respectful relationships, help-seeking and online safety are core to both.
Teaching consent and protective behaviours — the part that's hardest to resource
If there's one part of this unit teachers find hardest to prepare, it's the child protection content — so the slides give it real care. Consent is introduced through everyday situations students recognise (borrowing a pen, sharing a photo, joining a game), then built into assertive voice, body language and practice with realistic scenarios. No–Go–Tell is taught explicitly, boundaries are explored through guided discussion, and the trusted-adults lesson helps every student build their own help-seeking network. The scenarios appear in full, worded for Stage 2 students, and the slides never print answer keys — students respond, the class discusses, and you guide it.

Every lesson follows a real teaching rhythm, not a wall of text.
