About this resource

Overview
This is a complete, student-facing PowerPoint for NSW HSIE Stage 2 Unit 8. It covers all 16 lessons plus 4 consolidation activities across 405 classroom-ready slides, so you can open it, project it and teach.
Students begin by exploring the traditions of Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism and Judaism in Australia, then investigate the different needs within their school and local community. They learn how volunteering and organisations such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service respond to those needs, conduct and graph a community survey, and finish by planning, developing and sharing their own community response.
